Elderly couple found dead at forest in Odisha’s Keonjhar

Keonjhar: An elderly couple was found dead at Kashipal forest under Jhumpura police limits in Odisha’s Keonjhar district. The deceased have been identified as Buddhadev Mahakud and Malati Devi.

The duo had gone to a local vegetable market on November 8, following which the two went missing. Their family members had lodged a complaint in this regard with Jhumpura police.

Bodies of the two were found at the forest last night after foul smell emanated from the spot. Police have recovered the bodies for post-mortem and started investigation.

Though the reason behind the death of the couple is yet to be ascertained, family members have alleged that the duo was murdered over land dispute and the bodies were buried at the forest.
