Sundargarh: An elderly man was allegedly killed by a miscreant over  suspicion of practicing sorcery at Adhapada under Kinjirkela police limits in Odisha's Sundargarh district today.

The deceased was identified as Haladhar Bhoi (58).

According to reports, Bhoi's body was found under a mango tree located around 200 metres away from his house.

On being informed about the alleged murder, police reached the spot, recovered the body for post-mortem and initiated an investigation into the incident.

A youth was detained at the police station for questioning in connection with the death.

The reason behind the killing will come to fore after a detailed investigation, said police.
