Elderly man trampled to death by elephant in Odisha’s Bhadrak

Bhadrak: A septuagenarian man was allegedly killed by an elephant at Mohantipada village under Bant block in Odisha’s Bhadrak district today.

The deceased has been identified as Maguni Behera.

According to source, the 70-year-old man had been to his mango orchard near a river bank at around 6.00 am during the period an elephant suddenly attacked him and trampled him to death. The jumbo had already fled the scene when the locals reached the site after hearing the old man’s scream.

It is to be mentioned that elephant herds have been seen over past nine days in Agarpada area bordering on Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj districts.
