Elderly man trampled to death by tusker in Odisha’s Sundergarh   

Rourkela: In a tragic incident, an elderly man was trampled to death by a tusker while he was asleep in his house at Jabaladihi village under Ujjwalapur Forest Range in Sundergarh district last night.

Source said when Feje Tere (65) was alone and sleeping in his house last night, the pachyderm broke into the house and trampled him to death late last night.

After finding his body today morning, locals informed the police and forest officials. Police rushed to the spot and sent the body to Sundergarh district headquarters hospital (DHH) for post-mortem.

Meanwhile, the forest officials have begun an inquiry into the incident.
