Elections 2019: On-duty poll official dies in Odisha

Dhenkanal: An on-duty poll official died while voting was underway at a polling station in Parjang Assembly Constituency of Dhenkanal district today.

Sources the polling official identified as Nabakishore Nayak collapsed on the ground while discharging his duty at booth-41 in Kantapal area of the constituency. He was rushed to a hospital in Kamakshyanagar for treatment. However, he died while undergoing treatment at the hospital.

Two days ago, another polling official identified as Abhay Kumar Sethy died on his way to a polling station in Anandapur Assembly Constituency of Keonjhar district.

In the the third phase elections today, voting is underway in 42 Assembly segments under six Lok Sabha Constituencies-Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Puri, Sambalpur, Keonjhar and Dhenkanal.
