Elephant carcass found in Odisha forest

Decomposed body of a female elephant was today found from Panichua Mutt forest under Mahabiroda forest range in Odisha’s Dhenkanal district.

According to reports, villagers spotted carcass of a five-year-old female elephant in a forested area this morning following which forest officials were informed about the incident.

The decomposed body of the pachyderm would be sent for post-mortem to ascertain the cause of death, forest department official said.
