Elephant dies in train accident in Odisha’s Dhenkanal

Dhenkanal: A female elephant died after being hit by a freight train near Kaunriapal under Sadar Forest Range in Odisha’s Dhenkanal district today.

A herd of elephants was crossing the railway track this morning around 6 am when the goods train hit the female elephant leading to the pachyderm’s death.

Locals spotted the carcass and informed the Forest officials, who reached the spot and initiated investigation.
