Elephant kills farmer at farmland in Odisha’s Dhenkanal
Dhenkanal: An elephant trampled a farmer to death at his farmland at Panigengutia village under Mahaveer Road Forest Range in Odisha’s Dhenkanal district, today. The deceased has been identified as Fakir Bhoi of the village.
According to reports, Bhoi was working at his farmland this morning when an elephant attacked him and crushed him to death on the spot. On being informed by locals, Forest officials reached the village and started an investigation.

The officials pacified the irate locals by assuring them that the compensation amount will be provided to the family of the deceased soon.
Police have recovered the body and sent it to Parjanga Community Health Centre for post-mortem.
