Elephant strays into Odisha’s Sundargarh town, locals panic

Sundargarh: Panic gripped Odisha’s Sundargarh town today after a tusker reportedly strayed into RC Mission campus here.

It is suspected that the elephant entered the premises around 8 AM this morning. Locals spotted the pachyderm roaming near the garden inside the campus.

On being informed, Forest officials recahed the spot and initiated efforts to ward off the jumbo. The movement of the animal was being constantly monitored by a 15-member team.

Presence of the elephant in the town has left the locals panic-stricken.
