Elephant tramples four to death in Odisha’s Bargarh

Bargarh: An elephant allegedly trampled four persons to death in Odisha’s Bargarh district today.

According to reports, the pachyderm crushed a 75-year-old man to death at Rajapada Sahi in Padmapur area of the district when he was sleeping inside his house late last night.

Similarly, the animal trampled a 45-year-old man and a 21-year-old youth to death in the locality when they had gone to attend nature’s call this morning. The duo has been identified as son and grandson of the elderly man.

Another 52-year-old man died after being crushed by the elephant at Banjanmunda under Boden police limits in the district. On being informed, Forest officials reached the spots and initiated investigation. Locals have demanded compensation for the families of the deceased.
