Employees boycott Odisha Plus 2 Council foundation day

Odisha Sun Times Bureau
Bhubaneswar, Sept 7:

For the first time, employees of the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) in Odisha boycotted the Council’s 33rd Foundation Day here today.

The employees, who have resorted to indefinite strike since September 1 demanding shifting of the chairman and secretary and action against erring officials involved in the irregularities in the annual Plus Two examinations held earlier this year, chose to stay away from the official function .

Sources said, while the Council authorities hoisted the Council flag at the headquarters office premises, the employees performed a yajna instead .

The employees maintained that they decided to boycott the celebration due to the adamant attitude of the officials. However, the chairman of the Prof Basudev Chhatoi said the allegation is untrue.

However, what has surprised one and all is the silence of the state government over the week-long stalemate, which has very badly affected the rechecking of Plus 2 answer sheets.
