Bhubaneswar, Jan 19:
Ahead of the Republic Day celebration on January 26, the Odisha government has directed the district collectors, SPs and the Revenue Divisional Commissioners (RDCs) to keep a close watch on the use of plastic tri-colour and take necessary steps in this regard.
According to a notification issued by the Information and Public Relations (I&PR) department on Saturday, the state government has asked the officers to adhere to the order of the Odisha High Court and take steps to ensure that not a single national flag made of plastic is displayed on the Independence Day, Republic Day and other important days.
As per the directive of the High Court, the tri-colours must be made of cotton, wool, silk and paper as per the Indian National Flag Code, 2000.
