Enforcement squad caught organising feast in Cuttack throwing COVID norms to wind
Cuttack: Officials deployed to enforce the lockdown were caught flouting the COVID-19 norms. The incident has been reported from Cuttack, where an enforcement squad of the Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) officials were caught organizing violating the safety forms.
As per reports, over 12 staff of CMC’s enforcement squad were organising a feast in a house near Nalini Mandap under Bidanasi police limits last night throwing the COVID-19 norms to wind. On receiving the information, Bidanasi police conducted a raid on the house and called off the feast. The cops also imposed a fine of Rs 1000 on the officials. The police also seized liquor bottles and biriyani from the spot.
Commenting on the matter, CMC Commissioner Ananya Das said, “As of now, I have not received any such information regarding the incident. However, strict action will be taken against the concerned officials, if the allegation is found to be true.”
