Bhubaneswar: Retired IPS officer Arup Patnaik lost to BJP's national spokesperson Dr. Sambit Patra as the saffron party occupied the prestigious Puri Lok Sabha seat in Odisha.
Dr. Patra was elected to Lok Sabha for the first time with over 1 lakh votes (6,29,330 total votes) by defeating BJD's Arup Patnaik in the elections.
In 2019, the BJP candidate was defeated by BJD's Pinaki Misra. He had received total 5,26,607 votes in the last Lok Sabha polls.
