Cuttack: Several members of an Excise department team suffered severe injuries in an alleged attack by liquor mafia during a raid in Dalua forest under Khuntuni police limits in Athagarh area of Cuttack district, today.

According to reports, the raid was conducted by the Excise department following a tip-off about illegal liquor trading in the area. As the team arrived at the scene, they were confronted by the attackers who wielded sharp weapons, resulting in critical injuries to the officials.

Additionally, the miscreants also vandalized four vehicles belonging to the officials that were parked in the forest.

Upon receiving information about the incident, Khuntuni police rushed to the spot and initiated an investigation into the matter.
