Explosion during cracker manufacturing kills two in Odisha’s Ganjam

Berhampur: As many as two youths lost their lives due to explosion while manufacturing crackers at Shyamasundarpur village under Khallikote block of Odisha’s Ganjam district last night.

The deceased have been identified as Madhab Das (24) and Shradheya Das (25). The two were reportedly manufacturing and bursting crackers yesterday on the occasion of Diwali.

The duo sustained critical burn injuries when a cracker exploded during its manufacturing. They were admitted to the MKCG Medical and Hospital, where Madhab breathed his last while undergoing treatment this morning.

On the other hand, Shradheya was shifted to the SCB Medical and Hospital in Cuttack for better treatment. However, he succumbed to his injuries this forenoon.
