Extortioner arrested in Bhubaneswar ahead of Durga Puja

Bhubaneswar: Intensifying drive against Dada Bati (extortion) ahead of Durga Puja, Commissionerate Police today arrested a criminal involved in different extortion cases here in the city.

The extortioner has been identified as Debashis Mahapatra alias Viku of Kapileswar locality at Old Town area in Bhubaneswar.

The Lingaraj Police apprehended Viku during a special drive against extortion.

Police sources said that the extortionist was involved in 16 cases lodged at different police stations in the city. He was wanted in a dacoity case.
