Cuttack: The associations of house surgeons and nursing officers in SCB Medical College and Hospital (SCBMCH) in Cuttack today called off stirs following a meeting.

The ongoing agitations have been withdrawn and all nursing officers, PG doctors, and house surgeons will resume their duties from tomorrow and work as before, informed Dr. Jayant Panda.

Treatment of patients and availability of healthcare services were partially affected due to the protests. Situations will become normal in the government-run health facility, Dr. Panda stated.

A meeting of the outfits concerned along with SCBMCH superintendent and some senior doctors of the hospital was held earlier in the day. Unanimously, the agitations were called off.

It is pertinent to mention, recently, a nursing officer working in SCBMCH was allegedly attacked by some house surgeons when she questioned one of them about delay in attending a critical patient.

This triggered resentment in the hospital's new Medicine Ward. SCBMCH unit of the nursing association subsequently lodged an FIR with Mangalabag police and sought the arrest of the wrongdoers.
