Bhubaneswar: CISF officer Somnath Mohanty of Odisha's Rayagada, who recently stopped Bollywood superstar Salman Khan at the Mumbai Airport for security check, was rewarded by the agency, contrary to media reports of Mohanty being punished for the act.

"The officer concerned has been suitably rewarded for exemplary professionalism in the discharge of his duty," the CISF said.

It was earlier reported by several news channels, news websites and newspapers that CISF had seized the mobile phone of Mohanty due to breach of protocol for talking to a media organization after stopping Khan.
