Fact-check: Odisha SRC issues fresh COVID guidelines for August
Bhubaneswar: Amidst a sudden spike in daily COVID-19 cases in Odisha, a fake circular mentioning fresh COVID guidelines issued by Special Relief Commission (SRC) is doing the rounds on social media.
The fake poster containing an image of Special Relief Commissioner Pradeep Jena features a set of COVID restrictions imposed in the state for the month of August. The restrictions included night curfew, weekend shutdown in Cuttack, Bhubaneswar and Puri, and 50% occupancy in cinema halls and restaurants.
Taking cognizance of the matter, the SRC took to Twitter and clarified that he has not issued any circular on COVID-19 after April 1, 2022.
“A lot of fake messages are being circulated on social media. No such order have been issued by SRC Odisha,” the official tweeted.
