Factories and Boilers Deputy Director under Vigilance scanner in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Factories and Boilers Deputy Director Ramesh Chandra Behera landed in a trouble after the Vigilance sleuths conducted raids at his residences and offices for allegedly accumulating assets disproportionate to his known source of income.

The officials of Vigilance Bhubaneswar Division carried out simultaneous raids at Behera’s house at Ghatikia area in Bhubaneswar and another residence in Korei of Jajpur district and house of his relative at Pilgrim Road in Cuttack yesterday.

Besides, his offices in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack and a house in Puducherry were also searched by the anti-corruption wing of Odisha Government.

Source said that the Vigilance sleuths seized assets worth over Rs 1.5 crore from his residence in Bhubaneswar.
