Bhubaneswar: The police seized fake cosmetic products worth around Rs 10 lakh from four stores in Odisha’s Berhampur city today.
A joint team of Berhampur Town police and Badabazar police raided the stores after receiving a complaint from FMCG major Hindustan Unilever, sources said.
The police team carried out raids at Omm Store and Sri Sai Trading Co at Khasapa Line, Man Pasand store at Bhapur market and Khushi Ladies Corner at V2 Mall in Old Bus stand area and seized fake cosmetics worth around Rs 10 lakh, sources added.
According to sources, the police team seized fake cosmetics products including Lakme Eyeconic Kajal, Elle 18 Kajal, Lakme 9 to 5 Compact, Lakme Absolute Compact, Lakme Foundation, Lakme 9 to 5 Lipstick, Lakme Absolute Lipstick, Lakme 9 to 5 Eyeliner, Lakme 9 to 5 Mascara, Lakme Enrich Satin Lipstick and POND’S BB Cream during the raid.
The team seized 461 counterfeit cosmetics from Omm Store, 553 from Sri Sai Trading Co, 807 from Man Pasand and 51 from Khushi Ladies Corner, sources said.
