Fake IRS officer arrested in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj

Baripada: A person impersonating as an IRS officer has been arrested in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district for allegedly duping people on the pretext of providing them jobs.

The arrested has been identified as Rajat Kumar Panda of Baulapala village under Tihidi police limits in Bhadrak district.

Many duplicate documents, Rs 10,000 and two mobile phones have been seized from his possession. He was earlier arrested and sent to jail on same charges.

After getting released from jail, he repeated his illegal acts and received Rs 30,000 from a woman by promising her of providing a job in an NGO.

The woman later came to know about his ill intentions and lodged a complaint in this regard at Baripada Town police station, on the basis of which he was arrested yesterday.
