Fake journalist held for cheating Odisha youth on pretext of Railway job

Bhubaneswar: A youth was arrested today for allegedly cheating a person on pretext of providing him a job in Railway in Odisha’s Gajapati district.

The accused was identified as Krushna Chandra Sahu of Mahachhai village under Kabisuryanagar police limits. He was arrested following a complaint by the victim Subrat Kumar Patra.

In the complaint, Patra, a resident of Gurandi, alleged that Sahu impersonating as a journalist duped him of Rs 60,000 and Aadhaar card with false assurance of providing him a job in Railway.

Based on the complaint, a case has been registered at Paralakhemundi Model Police Station today.

The accused was arrested and forwarded to the court. He was booked under sections 419/420/294/323/506 of IPC, said Paralakhemundi Model Police Station IIC in a release.
