Fake lube racket unearthed, man arrested in Odisha’s Rourkela

A case has been registered under relevant sections of the IPC and Trade Marks Act /Copy Right Act and further investigation is underway. Search is on to track down other members involved in the racket, police said. 

Rourkela: In a major crackdown, police busted a fake lube racket and recovered over 1200 litres of engine oil while arresting a person in this connection from Plant Site in Rourkela town of Sundargarh district in Odisha here today. The accused was identified as Taslim Arif, a resident of Raza Street within Plant Site police limits here.

He was nabbed after police raided his house based on a reliable tip-off. During the raid at the manufacturing unit, the team unearthed 1227.5 litres of spurious engine oil under names of popular brands, 130 empty bottles with duplicate labels, 1730 labels and cap seals, 1100 bottle caps of known companies and other incriminating materials.
