Family feud: Odisha woman commits suicide, husband critical

In a tragic incident a woman in Odisha’s Ganjam district succumbed to her injuries after a self-immolation bid today.

Reports said a couple hailing from Sunam Sahi of Aska town in Ganjam district in a suicide attempt set itself on fire Sunday morning following a family discord.

Both the husband and wife had poured kerosene on their bodies before setting themselves on fire.

They were first rushed to the government hospital here by their neighbours but were later shifted to MKCG Medical College and Hospital as their condition deteriorated.

Meanwhile, the wife has succumbed to her burns and the husband is battling for his life in a critical condition.
