FANI: Pinaki donates MP salary for next 5 years after poll results

Puri: Extending helping hand for victims in Cyclone FANI-ravaged Puri district, senior Biju Janata Dal (BJD) leader Pinaki Mishra decided to donate his MP salary for the next five years after being elected to the Lok Sabha for another term.

He will contribute his entire MP salary and daily allowance to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF).

He informed about his decision on a microblogging site Twitter after the poll results.

“In view of the awful #CycloneFani tragedy and the misery of people of Puri,I have decided to give my entire MP salary and daily allowance to the CM relief fund for the next 5 years. Will request CM @Naveen_Odisha to use it for requests from my constituency,” Pinaki tweeted.

The move came after the BJD candidate won the Lok Sabha elections with a close margin of votes from Puri Parliamentary Constituency.

He defeated his opponent Sambit Patra from Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) by a margin of 11,714 votes in the general election 2019.
