Farmer killed in lightning strike in Odisha’s Bhadrak

Chandbali: A farmer was killed after being struck by lightning in Chandbali block of Bhadrak district today afternoon. The deceased was identified as Saroj Mohanty (40), a resident of Balabhadrak Prasad village under Chandabali block.

While going to his farmland to carry out agricultural activities at around 3:30 PM, lightning struck Saroj. Eyewitnesses said Saroj and a woman who was present in her agricultural field near the spot fell unconscious due to lightning strike. Both were rushed to the Chandbali hospital in critical condition.

Saroj later breathed his last at the hospital while undergoing treatment. He is survived by his wife and three children.
