Father-daughter duo killed in road mishap in Odisha’s Sambalpur

Sambalpur: In a tragic incident, a father-daughter duo died after an unknown vehicle hit the motorcycle on which they were travelling on NH-55 in Jujumara area of Odisha’s Sambalpur district today.

The deceased have been identified as Bijay Pradhan (50) and his daughter Rita Pradhan (27) of Lipinda village.

According to reports, the two were returning home from the district headquarters hospital when a speeding vehicle hit the bike killing both on the spot.

On being informed by locals, police reached the spot, recovered the bodies and sent those for post-mortem. Efforts are on to identify the unknown vehicle and its driver.
