Father of two kids held for raping minor in Odisha

Tentulikhunti: The police arrested a man, father of two children for allegedly raping a minor girl in Odisha’s Nabarangpur district today. The accused, Birendra Khura from Karmiguda village under Pujariguda panchayat of the district was produced before the court which sent him to the judicial custody.

As per a complaint filed by the minor girl’s family at Tentulikhunti police station, the accused visited the minor girl’s house and raped her on December 19, 2019 when no one was present in the house. He also threatened the victim with murder if she discloses the matter to anyone.

Even though the accused raped the minor girl on several occasions thereafter, the victim did not disclose the matter to anyone out of fear.

When her family members came to know about the girl’s ordeal, they lodged a written complaint yesterday. Based on the complaint, the accused was arrested and forwarded to the court, said a police official.
