Father-son trio die of asphyxiation while cleaning well in Odisha

Three members of a family were today asphyxiated inside a well in Gajapati district of Odisha while another three have been admitted to hospital in a critical condition while attempting to rescue the trio.

According to reports, the father-son trio this morning went into a well on the premises of their house to clean it.

However, the trio fell unconscious inside the well owing which another three persons of the village went inside to rescue them.

Unfortunately, the unconscious father-son trio were asphyxiated inside the well and the rescuers too fell ill during the rescue operation.

They have been admitted to Gumma Community Health Centre in a critical condition.

The deceased have been identified as Phainat Gamanga of Badakalakote village under Gumma block in the district and his two sons – Preisingh Gamanga and Ataniya Gamanga.
