Female elephant found dead in Odisha’s Angul

Angul: Carcass of a female elephant was found near Brindabanpur village under Pokunda Section of Angul Forest Range, today.

Locals spotted the carcass this morning and informed Forest officials, who reached the spot and initiated investigation to ascertain the cause of the death of the pachyderm. Till last reports came in, autopsy was being carried out on the carcass.

Worth mentioning, Forest officials had last night heard the elephant trumpeting in the area. However, they were unable to trace the animal due to darkness.
