Bhubaneswar: A 69-year-old female Nilgai died at the Nandankanan Zoological Park on the city outskirts today.
Sources said the Asian antelope might have died due to old age-related diseases.
With the death, the number of Nilgais at the zoo has come down to 16, including 11 females.
Earlier on September 29, a 26-year-old lioness, Supriya, died at the zoo. Born during 1994, the lioness was suffering from old age-related ailments.
It is pertinent to mention here that the zoo reopened for visitors on October 4 after remaining closed for over six months due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
