Sundargarh: Grisly details have emerged a day after blood-smeared body of a female postmaster was recovered from a field in Lefripara block of Odisha's Sundargarh district and  police arresting a person in this connection here today. The accused, identified as Nayan Seth, the deceased woman's paramour, had reportedly murdered her over suspicion that she was deliberately trying to create a rift between the two families.

Police investigation revealed that Seth was in a relationship with Snigdha Pradhan, a postmaster working in Telendihi. Holding a grudge against her, he had planned the murder and even purchased a new knife just before meeting her. On Monday, the duo met and had an argument following which Nayan stabbed her multiple times and then stoned her to death before disposing of her body at a field near Belsariapada jungle within Lefripara police limits. After committing the act, he even messaged Snigdha's mother on Whatsapp and shared the location of the body.

After the body was recovered, police started probe. The family of the deceased informed about her relationship and that she went missing after having gone to meet him. As investigation too off, Nayan was tracked down and arrested.

He admitted to the crime during interrogation by the police and will be produced in court today, official sources said.
