Fight against COVID-19: Odisha legislator urges CM to take MLAs into confidence

Bhubaneswar: BJD MLA from Gopalpur, Pradeep Kumar Panigrahy today requested Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to constitute committees to monitor the COVID-19 management at the Parliamentary constituency level or Assembly constituency level.

In a letter to the CM, the ruling party MLA wrote these committees may be headed by the Speaker of Odisha Assembly SN Patro for Berhampur Parliamentary Constituency and Minister Bikram Keshari Arukha for Aska Parliamentary Constituency. He added if the committee is for an Assembly constituency, it may be headed by the local MLA.

He further suggested the district administration may be instructed to take the local MLA into confidence while planning for accommodation of migrant workers at quarantine centers.

The legislator added all the sanctioned posts of doctors, para-medical staff, nurses and technical staff for MKCG Medical College and Hospital and other government hospitals may be filled up at the earliest.
