Fight against COVID-19: This Odisha district to go under two-day shutdown

Nabarangpur: In view of rising cases of COVID-19, the Nabarangpur district administration today declared a two-day shutdown in the district. The move is expected to contain the spread of the deadly virus in the district.

District Collector Ajit Kumar Mishra in a statement mentioned the shutdown will begin from 5 am on August 1 to midnight on August 2. During the shutdown period only essential services will be allowed to operate.

Shops selling grocery, vegetables and milk will remain open from 6 am to 1 pm during this period.

Movement of employees of Central and State government offices will be allowed. Similarly, movement of media persons with the required approval, personnel working in telecom sector and Energy department will not be restricted during the shutdown period.

Petrol pumps and gas distribution agencies can also operate during the shutdown period, the statement added.

So far, a total of 236 persons of the district tested positive for the virus.
