File FIR against BJP Spokesperson Sambit Patra: Delhi court to police

Bhubaneswar/Delhi: The District Court of Delhi today ordered police to register an FIR against BJP National Spokesperson Sambit Patra for posting a doctored video of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on social media.

In the video, the CM was wrongly shown supporting the three farm laws that have been repealed by the Centre recently.

The post shared on Twitter by the saffron party leader was tagged as “manipulative media” by the microblogging site. Patra had later deleted the tweet.

Earlier, a legal team of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) had approached the Delhi police to file an FIR against Patra but the cops had allegedly refused to do so. The party later moved the court seeking its direction to Delhi police for the same.

Hearing the petition, the court today directed the Delhi police to register a case against Patra under 156 (3) of CrPC.
