Rourkela: As Odisha's Sundargarh district readies for a fierce poll battle between the BJD and BJP, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik arrived in Rourkela today to bolster the party's final campaign for the simultaneous elections on May 20.

As per the schedule, the CM arrived at the Rourkela airport at 11.30 am and headed straight to sector 13 to address a massive public gathering. He spoke about the government's schemes for health, education, women and child welfare, youth, labourers and senior citizens. "I thank all of you for travelling such long distance and making the effort to come here. Is the Mission Shakti Yojana good? Is the Kalia scheme good? Is the Mamata Yojana good? Is the 5T school programme good? Is the scholarship scheme for youth good? Is the BSKY good? Is the Madhubabu Pension Yojana good? Is Naveen Patnaik good?," he asked, addressing the public. "Apana Mane Khusi Ta? (Are you happy?) Please vote for "Sankha","the CM appealed and sought blessings of the people.

Taking a dig at the BJP, he said,"The Centre only talks but the BJD walks the talk," he said, adding that the party will emerge victorious again as the people of Odisha and Rourkela have reposed their faith in BJD time and again.

Present at the meeting were Sundargarh MP candidate Dilip Tirkey and MLA candidates of seven Assembly constituencies including Sarada Prasada Nayak (Rourkela), Archanarekha Behera (Raghunathpalli), Rohit Joseph Tirkey (Birmitrapur), Jogesh Singh (Sundargarh), Binoy Toppo (Talsara) and Bhimsen Choudhury  (Bonai).

The CM is scheduled to address public gathering at Deogarh and then at Chhendipada and Athamallik in Angul district today, after the Rourkela event
