Final round meeting on Odisha HSC exams today

The Odisha government will have a final round of meeting today to give finsihing touches to the preparations for the smooth conduct of the annual High School Certificate (HSC) examinations scheduled to begin from February 23.

Senior officials, including chief secretary GC Pati, commissioner-cum-secretary, School and Mass Education, Home secretary, president of Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Director General of Police (DGP) and all district collectors would remain present in a videoconferencing at the State Secretariat here.

The officials will interact with the District Education Officers, Board officials and others in charge of the examinations on the measures taken at their respective districts.

BSE president Prof Dakshya Prasad Nanda said there will be a thorough discussion on issues regarding the number of question papers despatched to the nodal centres, security provisions in all nodal and examination centres, formation of three-tier squads, special measures taken at sensitive examination centres and security arrangements at the time of despatch of question papers from all 302 nodal centres to the examination centres.

“The state government would take necessary action on the basis of the reports by the district collectors”, he added.

The BSE president would apprise the meeting of the steps taken by the Board for the smooth conduct of the examinations.

Sources said that the meeting would be followed by a district level meeting of the DEOs.

Meanwhile, question papers for the first three-day of the examinations, despatched by the Board, have reached most of the nodal centres.

The Board would despatch questions papers for the remaining days of the examinations in two phases after the first phase question papers are received by all nodal centres.
