Fire at SCB hospital in Odisha; no casualty

Cuttack: A fire broke out at Hematology department of the SCB Medical College & Hospital here today. However, no casualty was reported in the mishap.

The fire tender services reached the spot to control the fire.

According to reports, the fire erupted at around 12 noon due to a short circuit in an Air Conditioner installed at the Hematology Department of the State’s premier medical institution.

Around 40 patients were undergoing treatment at the department when the incident took place. They were panicked to see the fire.

After the news spread, the patients and their attendants started running out of the ward.

The hospital authorities were not available to comment on the fire mishap till the last report came in.
