Fire at vegetable market in Odisha’s Rourkela, 14 shops gutted

Rourkela: A major fire broke out at vegetable market at Panposh in Odisha’s steel city here this morning. Around 14 shops were gutted in the fire.

On being informed by the locals, two fire tenders were pressed into service to douse the flame.

Almost all the shops were burnt to ashes when the fire services personnel reached the spot.

According to reports, the fire broke out at around 5.30 am at the market. As the shops were made of bamboo, the fire spread rapidly. However, the cause of fire is yet unknown.

Raghunathpali police launched investigation into the incident.
