Fire breaks out at Utkal University in Odisha Capital

Bhubaneswar: Fire broke out in the Syndicate Hall situated in the Administrative Block of Utkal University here this evening. As per reports, two fire tenders have been pressed into service to douse the fire in the hall after receiving the information.

An eyewitness and staff of the university said, “As the Syndicate Hall is having wooden interiors, the intensity of fire is so high. The fire erupted at round 6.30 pm.”

It is believed many important documents have been gutted in the fire though the exact assessment of losses have not been done till the filing of this report. Reason behind the fire was yet to be ascertained.
