Keonjhar: Fire broke out inside Keonjhar-Bhubaneswar Fast Passenger train near Tilikidhara station in Odisha's Keonjhar district this morning.
According to reports, the fire was spotted inside the luggage van of the passenger train, following which the loco pilot stopped the train.
Panic gripped the passengers as they alighted from the stationary train in a bid to avoid any untoward incident. There are no reports of any casualty in the fire mishap and all the passengers are safe.
On being informed, fire personnel reached the spot and initiated efforts to douse the flames.
The luggage van was later separated from the train. Though the reason behind the outbreak of fire is yet to be ascertained, it is suspected that short circuit might have led to the mishap.
"One parcel van loaded by Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) at KDJR was attached next to locomotive in the passenger train. Smoke was coming out of this parcel van. Loco was detached and gap was created between this parcel van and other coaches," said a East Coast Railway statement.
