Bhubaneswar: Several shops were reduced to ashes as two LPG cylinders exploded at an eatery in Pandara under Mancheswar police limits in Odisha capital on Wednesday night.
According to reports, the mishap took place as the two LPG cylinders caught fire inside a fast-food shop and exploded. The flames quickly spread to nearby shops. In addition to the shops, a motorcycle was also gutted in the fire.
Properties worth lakhs of rupees were damaged in the incident.
It is suspected that an electrical short circuit might have triggered the fire, leading to the explosions.
On being informed, Fire Services personnel rushed to the spot and doused the flames.
The exact cause of the outbreak of fire will be determined after a thorough investigation, a police official said.
