Firecrackers worth lakhs seized in Odisha’s Cuttack, 3 held

Cuttack: The Twin City Commissionerate Police today seized firecrackers worth lakhs of rupees in Jagatpur area of Odisha’s Cuttack city and detained three persons in this connection.

Early this morning, a team led by Jagatpur police station IIC raided multiple factories at Padmapur, Mahajanpur and Trilochanpur where firecrackers were being illegally manufactured/stored. The price of the seized firecrackers is around Rs 10 lakh, reports said.

Worth mentioning, the Odisha Government has banned the sale and use of firecrackers between November 10 and 30 in view of the COVID-19 situation.
