Firing near Puri Gundicha temple: 4 more accused arrested

Puri: The Puri police yesterday arrested four more accused in the murder of gangster Sanjay Behera alias Para near the Gundicha temple here last month.

The cops also seized two pistols from the possession of the four accused, including a woman. The four arrested identified as notorious criminal Bhagirathi Pradhan, Pramod Bhola, Ranjan and wife of prime accused Denga Muna, were later produced before court, sources said.

With this, the total number of arrested persons in this case rose to eight. Earlier, police had arrested Tapas Samantaray, Babuni Parida, Denga Muna and Jitendra Sahoo.

On December 25, three miscreants had opened three rounds of fire at Sanjay Behera alias Para near Gundicha temple leaving him critically-injured. However, he later died while undergoing treatment at SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.
