Bhubaneswar: Odisha Higher Education Department today announced the first merit list for admission into various Undergraduate (UG) courses in the state for 2020-21 academic year.
Out of the 2,13,959 students applied for admission, 1,58,540 have been selected for first phase admission into various Plus 3 courses. Of the total selected students, 88300 are female and 70232 are male while rest eight students belong to Third Gender.
Total 1,97,267 of CHSE students had applied for the admission, of which 1,43, 471 have been selected in the first phase.
The total seat strength for UG courses in the state is 2,49,790.
Total 95,649 students have been selected for Arts, 10,81 for Self Financing, 16682 for Commerce, 3818 for Sanskrit, 23817 for Physics and 17,493 for Biology. BJB College here has topped the list in all streams except Sankrit.

The students are advised to log on to the official website of Student Academic Management System (SAMS) for further details. They will have to deposit admission fees at the website today.
The second merit list will be declared on October 8.
