First phase of Promotion Adalat commences in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: As a part of special drive for promotion of government employees under the 5T initiative, hearing at six Promotion Adalats in Odisha capital commenced today.

The first phase hearing will continue for three days and conclude on January 30. The next round of Promotion Adalats would be held on February 27, 28 and 29.  The cases not listed in the first phase would be taken up in that round.

Chief Secretary Asit Tripathy will preside over the Promotion Adalat at Chief Minister’s Grievance Cell, while Development Commissioner Suresh Mohapatra will do so at Gopabandhu Academy. Agriculture Production Commissioner Pradipta Kumar Mohapatra will conduct the adalat at Krishi Bhawan Auditorium. ACS RK Sharma will conduct the adalat at Kalinga Stadium Conference Hall, while ACS Pradeep Kumar Jena and Mona Sharma will preside over the adalat at SIRD Conference Hall and IDCO Conference Hall, respectively.

The State Government has received 8,909 applications from its employees of various departments for promotion adalats. Hearing of as many as 2,273 applications will be carried out in the first phase.

Notably, cases of aggrieved employees, who were eligible for promotion by December 31, 2019 but deprived for some reasons, would be heard at the adalats. A record number of 3,166 government employees were given promotion in the last week of December under the 5T initiative after the Chief Minister’s directive.
