Fish-laden pickup van overturns in Odisha’s Paradip

Paradip: A fish-laden pickup van today overturned near Paradip Garh in Jagatsinghpur district causing marine products worth lakhs to land on the road.

However, no casualty has been reported, the driver is said to be little hurt in the accident.

The police reached and cordoned off the site.

According to reports, the pickup van carrying a consignment of fishes worth around Rs 4 lakh was enroute to Digha from Paradip port. The van turned turtle after the driver lost control over the vehicle near Paradip Garh.

The locals went into looting fishes lying scattered in the middle of the road instead of rescuing the driver. After the police arrived at the spot, the locals were restricted from taking away fishes.
