Fisherman goes missing after falling off boat in Chitrakonda reservoir in Odisha

Chitrakonda: A fisherman went missing after falling off his boat while fishing in Chitrakonda reservoir in Malkangiri district of Odisha.

The missing fisherman has been identified as Mangara Pangi, a resident of Kadagumma village under Chitrakonda Block in Malkangiri district.

According to reports, the 45-year-old Pangi along with his wife had been to Chitrakonda reservoir at 11 am on Saturday for fishing.

As per the police complaint by Pangi’s wife, her husband fell off the boat into water after losing control over himself while fishing and went missing in the waterbody.

On receiving the complaint, the local police rushed to the spot and with help of Chitrakonda firefighters, he searched for the missing fisherman in the reservoir till yesterday evening.

The search operation will also continue today in the reservoir, police informed.
